Bishkek, June 21, 2024. /Kabar/. Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers - Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic Bakyt Torobaev held negotiations with Diplomatic Representative of Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) in Kyrgyzstan Dr. Barkat Fazal.
During the meeting, projects aimed at developing agriculture in Kyrgyzstan, especially in the regions of the country, were discussed.
Bakyt Torobaev emphasized the importance of the work of the Aga Khan Foundation, noting that effective interaction between the public sector and the business environment is the basis for achieving common goals to improve the efficiency of the agricultural sector and ensure the country's food security and presented an agricultural development plan, saying that the ministry is open to proposals in helping to implement projects.
The Kyrgyz official also invited representatives of the Aga Khan Foundation to take part in the Organic Expo 2024 forum.
In turn, Barkat Fazal proposed organizing a meeting at the technical level, where specialists from the two sides will jointly determine what is being implemented today, what gaps exist in the work and expressed agreement with the statement that training farmers and drip irrigation are among the priorities for today.
In conclusion, the parties expressed satisfaction with the bilateral cooperation and once again confirmed their readiness for fruitful cooperation.
