Bakyt Torobaev visits number of textile enterprises in China

Bishkek, June 28, 2024. /Kabar/. Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic - Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry Bakyt Torobaev, as part of a working trip to the city of Aksu, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China (XUAR China), got acquainted with the activities of a number of companies in the textile industry.

Torobaev met with the General Director of the textile company Huafu, Lu Li. During the conversation, the deputy chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers proposed sending the company’s leading specialists on the selection, installation, implementation of modern advanced equipment and the introduction of new technologies to Kyrgyzstan to exchange experience. In turn, the general director of the company, Lu Li, expressed interest in cooperation with Kyrgyzstan and readiness to exchange experience.

Torobaev also got acquainted with the activities of the textile company “Jiatai”.

He noted that cotton is produced in the Osh, Jalal-Abad and Batken regions of Kyrgyzstan, and proposed building a plant for processing cotton fiber.

“For both countries, cotton cultivation is an effective sector that can contribute to solving the social and economic problems of rural residents. Therefore, if your company considers the possibility of building a cotton processing plant, more precisely, for the production of yarn or fabric, we will increase the cotton sown area in Kyrgyzstan,” he said.

Jiatai Chairman Yao Ruipeng said he fully supports the proposal and is ready to build a processing plant if the volume of raw materials and infrastructure are appropriate.

In addition, Bakyt Torobaev met with the general director of the Uoulian textile company, Cheng Shihua, which is engaged in dyeing fabrics.

The parties discussed the possibility of exporting fabric to Kyrgyzstan in large volumes. Bakyt Torobaev noted that the garment industry is developed in Kyrgyzstan, employing 200 thousand people. The parties considered the possibility of organizing direct purchase of fabric by entrepreneurs without intermediaries.
