Batch of Russian Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine delivered to Bishkek

Bishkek, April 22, 2021. / Kabar / . The first batch of Russian cronavirus vaccine Sputnik V in the amount of 20,000 doses arrived in Bishkek on Thursday.

Earlier, the Russian Embassy in Kyrgyzstan said the delivery is part of an agreement reached during the visit of Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov to Moscow on Feb. 24-25, 2021.

The Ministry of Health and Social Development reported that after the vaccines arrive, a decision will be made in the days to select the category of citizens to be vaccinated.

A vaccination against the novel coronavirus started on March 29 in Kyrgyzstan.

The country received 150 thousand doses of the Sinopharm vaccine from the Chinese manufacturer Beijing Institute of Biological Product Co. Ltd on March 19. The vaccination is carried out twice, with an interval of 25-28 days. No side effects have been reported after immunization with this vaccine.
