Bishkek, Oct.10, 2019. /Kabar/. On Oct.10, 2019, at the junction of borders of three states (Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan-Tajikistan), border guards from Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan conducted a joint tactical and special exercise entitled “Joint Actions of the Sides to repel armed invasion in the Kyrgyz-Uzbek section of the border”.
The press service of the Kyrgyz State Border Service reported that the joint exercises were conducted in two stages.
The exercises were monitored by Chief of the Main Staff, First Deputy Chairman of the State Border Service of the Kyrgyz Republic Colonel Abdikarim Alimbayev and Deputy Chairman of the Service, Commander of the Border Guards of the State Security Service of Uzbekistan Major-General Ruslan Mirzayev.
The main purpose of the event is to strengthen cooperation between the border services of the two countries and to work out joint actions in case of terrorist threats at the state border.
During the exercise, Kyrgyz and Uzbek border guards demonstrated a high level of professional skills in dealing with contemporary challenges and threats.
Summarizing the results, the sides appreciated the joint exercise, and noted that such activities increase the capacity of border services to systematically respond to potential threats.
