Bishkek, Feb.11, 2020. /Kabar/. At the Fergana Valley International Tourism Forum, to be held in Kyrgyzstan, Batken Oblast will obtain status of the national geopark, Director of Kyrgyzstan’s Tourism Department Maksat Damir uulu told reporters.
He added the event, to be held on Apr.13-15, will bring together local tourism companies, representatives of tourism of neighboring countries - Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
"We are raising the initiative with UNESCO. Initially, it will be at the national level, and then it is expected to be included to UNESCO's list. Batken has great potential in the Fergana Valley to attract foreign tourists," he said.
