Belarus hosted literary evening dedicated to Kyrgyz poet Tokombaev

Bishkek, Nov.28, 2019 /Kabar/. The Belarusian Society of Friendship and Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries hosted the literary evening, dedicated to the 115 years since Kyrgyz poet Aaly Tokombaev’s birth, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan reported.

The event was attended by representatives of the Belarus-Kyrgyzstan Friendship Society, members of the Belarusian Writers’ Union, creative intellectuals, artists and media, as well as students of higher educational institutions of Belarus.

In the course of the event, Chairwoman of the Belarusian Society of Friendship and Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries Nina Ivanova noted the creativity of Aaly Tokombaev, which is imbued with love for the land, people, history and the Fatherland.

Chairman of the Belarus-Kyrgyzstan Friendship Society, Chairman of the Belarusian Writers' Union Nikolay Cherginets also spoke about the poet's creation.

Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Belarus Ermek Ibraiymov expressed gratitude to the participants of the literary evening, and to all the Belarusian people for their interest in the Kyrgyz culture and the work of famous poet Aaly Tokombaev.

In the framework of the event, representatives of the creative community and cultural figures, as well as Belarusian students read excerpts from the works of Tokombaev, performed musical performances.

Aaly Tokombaev was a poet, composer, and a famous novelist who greatly influenced the Kyrgyz nation. In 1927 he graduated from the Middle Asian Community University (presently National University of Uzbekistan, in Tashkent). After graduation, he fully devoted himself to Soviet Kyrgyz literature.
