Bishkek, April 1, 2022 . / Kabar / . Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbaev held talks with Federal Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany Annalena Berbock in Berlin, the press service of the Kyrgyz MFA reported.
It was noted that Germany is one of the priority partners of Kyrgyzstan in the European Union, which has made a significant contribution to the democratic development of the country.
The sides confirmed their mutual readiness to further strengthen and intensify Kyrgyz-German cooperation in bilateral and multilateral formats.
The importance of organizing reciprocal visits at high and the highest levels, as well as the signing of relevant bilateral and multilateral documents to bring Kyrgyz-German relations to a new level was emphasized.
In the context of the impact on Central Asia of the situation in Afghanistan and Ukraine, as well as the COVID-19 pandemic, the German side was asked to consider the restoration of bilateral implementation of financial and technical projects in Kyrgyzstan by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany, previously transferred to the multilateral format.
The situation in Ukraine was considered separately, including in the context of the issues of strengthening energy and food security considered at the Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue conference.
Kyrgyz minister Kazakbaev emphasized that the Kyrgyz Republic is a supporter of the observance of the universally recognized norms and principles of international law, including the territorial integrity of states and the settlement of conflicts by peaceful means, set forth in the UN Charter and other documents.
The ongoing negotiations between representatives of Russia and Ukraine, mediation efforts and initiatives of the countries aimed at ending the armed conflict and achieving peace, including the efforts of the political leadership of Germany, France, and Turkey, were noted in a positive way.
The talks took place as part of Minister Kazakbaev's working trip to the Federal Republic of Germany.
