1.5 tons of beshbarmak prepared in Bishkek included in Guinness Book of Records

Bishkek, May 26, 2018 / Kabar /. The beshbarmak, cooked in Bishkek on March 11, 2018, is officially included in the Guinness Book of Records as the largest portion of the national dish.

The weight of the ready-made dish was 1,464 kilograms. The record was achieved by the AYU Holding association and KazGrain LLC.

The main ingredients of the beshbarmak was a horse meat.

The beshbarmak weighing 1,464 kilograms and 117 meters long chucook (Kyrgyz national sausage made of horse meat) was prepared on March 11 in Bishkek and was dedicated to the Day of Ak Kalpak.

The previous record for preparing beshbarmak was set in Astana on July 6, 2015, during the celebration of the Capital Day. The weight of the dish was 736 kg.

Beshbarmak is the national dish of Kyrgyz and Kazakh people.

The term Beshbarmak means "five fingers", because nomads used to eat this dish with their hands. The boiled meat is finely chopped with knives, mixed with boiled noodles, and spiced with onion sauce.
