Bishkek, Nov. 11, 2021 / Kabar /. The biography book "Chingiz Aitmatov" by academician Osmonakun Ibraimov was published in the Azerbaijani language, Nusret Musa-oglu Mamedov, President of the Foundation for Supporting the Politics of Turkic-Speaking States told.
He said that although more than ten years have passed since the death of the Kyrgyz writer, interest in his famous works, translated into more than 180 languages of the world, has not diminished in the least.
“Moreover, a great interest arose in his personality, human and creative destiny, which the author of the aforementioned book, academician Osmonakun Ibraimov considers the most characteristic biography of the past century, reflecting all its tragic vicissitudes,” the president of the foundation aid.
The book to Azerbaijani language was translated by Gunel Khazal.
“The book will be distributed free of charge, since its customer was the “Fund for the Support of the Politics of the Turkic-Speaking States”. The presentation is expected to take place on Dec. 12 in Baku, where Chingiz Aitmatov loved to come, meet with his readers, communicate with his most devoted friends, among whom was the famous poet Bakhtiyar Vakhabzade - one of the best Azerbaijani masters of the pen, according to Aitmatov. It is also worth noting that the Kyrgyz writer has always been a welcome guest of Heydar Aliyev, the generally recognized leader of the country, a world-renowned politician who highly appreciated the works of the author.
In addition, the first and last jubilee event of the Kyrgyz writer in connection with his 80th birthday was held in Baku from February 24 to March 1, 2008 by the same Foundation.
“Then the master, together with the President of the Foundation, was received by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and presented the writer with the Dostlug Order for services in strengthening friendship and mutual relations between Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan. Aitmatov was the first recipient of this high award,” the head of the foundation emphasized.
