Bishkek, April 5, 2021 . / Kabar / . An increase in number of coronavirus infection and pneumonia is observed in Bishkek, Bakytbyubyu Shamyrkanova, the representative of the Health Department of the capital’s Mayor’s Office said Monday during a briefing.
According to her, 123 new cases of COVID-19 were registered in the capital overnight, which is 71.5% of all cases in the republic.
"Of the cases registered during the past day, 111 were laboratory-confirmed and 12 cases of pneumonia. One coronavirus-related death was registered in Bishkek in the last 24 hours,” she said.
Bakytbyubyu Shamyrkanova added that medics continue to monitor the condition of home quarantined individuals.
"A total of 4,563 people have been placed under home quarantine since Jan. 1, 2021. Of these, 3 thousand 93 people have discontinued isolation. As of April 4, 1 thousand 497 people, including 472 people with a positive result of PCR-testing remain under quarantine,” she noted.
The specialist urged the townspeople to observe sanitary and epidemiological rules.
