Bishkek, Cheongju Mayor’s Offices sign memorandum of understanding

Bishkek, Oct. 1, 2024. /Kabar/. A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Bishkek Mayor's Office and the Mayor's Office of Cheongju City (Republic of Korea).

The memorandum of cooperation was signed by Deputy Mayor of Bishkek Azamat Kadyrov and Deputy Mayor of Cheongju City Shin Beng Dae.

The purpose of this memorandum is to strengthen mutual understanding and friendship between the residents of Bishkek and Cheongju, support and develop the exchange of knowledge, experience and best practices in urban planning, ecology, infrastructure, education and culture, deepen economic cooperation, including joint projects in tourism, trade and investment.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the development of bilateral inter-city relations through the signing of a bilateral document.

Azamat Kadrov noted that the Bishkek Mayor’s Office is open to cooperation with the Korean side in the implementation and further joint projects of social, cultural and humanitarian development, as well as the exchange of experience in urban planning, transportation, housing and communal services and other areas of urban life.

Shin Beng Dae expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and hospitality, stressing that the signed memorandum will help cooperation in tourism, transportation and business.

Cheongju is a city in South Korea, on the river in the Geumgang system, the administrative center of Chungcheong-Pukdo Province. It is a transportation hub with population 850 thousand inhabitants.
