Bishkek, Aug. 16, 2019. / Kabar /. Today, on Aug. 16, during a visiting session of the Bishkek City Court, which was held at the State Committee for National Security, the court considered a preventive measure against former president Almazbek Atambayev.
As a result of the meeting, the court did not change the preventive measure. Almazbek Atambayev will remain in custody in the State Committee for National Security pre-trial detention center until Aug. 26.
The former president is charged with murder of a soldier of special forces, using force against law enforcement officers, organizing mass unrest and hostage-taking.
Atambayev is also suspected of illicit trafficking of weapons and ammunition.
