Bishkek deputy mayor takes part in Eurasia World Heritage Cities Conference

Bishkek, April 5, 2021 . / Kabar / . Deputy Mayor of Bishkek on social issues Aizhan Chynybaeva took part in Eurasia World Heritage Cities Conference, the press service of the capital's Mayor’s Office reported.

The Turkestan city (Kazakhstan) hosted the X International Conference of Eurasia World Heritage Cities entitled "Heritage. Tourism and Urban Planning".

The conference was attended by representatives of more than 30 cities of the world.

"The projects of the Organization of World Heritage Cities (OWHC), the World Heritage sites were presented during the conference. We discussed the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on cultural tourism and the development of virtual tourism, and explored ways of preserving heritage and the possibilities of urban planning," the deputy mayor said.

The conference was organized by the Akimat of Turkestan city and the Eurasian Regional Secretariat of the Organization of World Heritage Cities (OWHC) with the support of the OHCHR General Secretariat.

The main purpose of the conference was to unite the representatives of the cities of the Eurasian region to discuss the issues of preservation, use and promotion of the World Heritage and search for their solutions.
