Bishkek hosts conference on “Interfaith Dialogue in Kyrgyzstan”

Bishkek, Dec. 5, 2018. /Kabar/. In Bishkek, the State Commission on Religious Affairs is holding the final conference on “Interfaith Dialogue in Kyrgyzstan”, devoted to the issues of establishing interfaith harmony and tolerance between representatives of various religious organizations of Kyrgyzstan.

The organizers told that the purpose of the conference is to discuss topical issues in the religious sphere, preserve stability in society, strengthen state and interfaith harmony, and also increase the literacy of religious leaders and civil society in the process of building a platform for interfaith dialogue.

The conference will result in the creation of a first independent body whose main activity will be aimed at preserving interfaith harmony. The Inter-Faith Council of Kyrgyzstan will be formed.

This event is held within the framework of the implementation of the Concept of the State Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Religious Sphere for 2014-2020, in order to develop approaches to strengthen interfaith dialogue, principles of respect for various views and beliefs, human rights and freedoms, tolerance and religious tolerance, to prevent radicalism and extremism.

The event is attended by the leadership and staff of the State Commission on Religious Affairs, representatives of state bodies and religious communities of Kyrgyzstan, experts.
