Bishkek, June 15, 2022. / Kabar /. The grand opening of the first thematic exhibition of historical, archaeological, ethnographic and artifact materials "Priceless Heritage of Ancestors: Taigan".is held in the National Historical Museum in Bishkek.
The exhibition was opened by Minister of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy Azamat Zhamankulov.
“Humanity has been accompanied by the image of animals since ancient times. However, it is the taigan that has been accompanying the Kyrgyz people for many years. Taigan already has the status of an intangible cultural heritage of Kyrgyzstan. Relevant negotiations are currently underway to include them also in the list of intangible cultural heritage of UNESCO. Within the framework of this initiative, an exhibition was organized, through which it is planned to tell about the history of the Kyrgyz taigans,” the minister said during the opening.
The exhibition was organized as part of the implementation of the decree of the president of the Kyrgyz Republic "On the spiritual and moral development and physical education of the individual." As part of the event, archival photos and videos related to the Kyrgyz taigan will be shown.
The exhibition will run until June 30th.
The organizers of the exhibition are the Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic, the National Historical Museum of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Resources for the expansion of youth Public Fund and the Kyrgyz Taigany Club Public Association.
