Bishkek, Oct. 20, 2021 / Kabar /. The State Commission for Religious Affairs of Kyrgyzstan held on Oct. 20 in Bishkek City Park "Health" an interfaith marathon for 3 km among religious organizations.
Director of the State Commission for Religious Affairs Toygonbai Abdykarov said that such initiatives will make a significant contribution to the stability, peace and development of the country. “In today's marathon, not athletes will become winners, today representatives of all religions will win, tolerance and mutual respect of our citizens. Our goal is to create bridges of friendship between us, create a platform for dialogue, build a strong society that will be tolerant, patriotic, hardworking, honest and able to cooperate with each other," he said.
This event is held in order to develop approaches to strengthen interfaith harmony, the principles of respect for different views and beliefs, the development of tolerance in society and the promotion of a healthy lifestyle, and the prevention of the spread of COVID-19.
This event is supported by the OSCE Program Office in Bishkek, the UNFPA Office in the Kyrgyz Republic and the international organization "Search for Common Interests".
