Bishkek hosts joint meeting of CSTO CMFA, CMD, CSSC

Bishkek, Nov.27, 2019./Kabar/. A joint meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers, the Council of Ministers of Defense and the Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils of the Collective Security Treaty Organization took place in Bishkek under the chairmanship of the Kyrgyz side.

Under the chairmanship of Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Chingiz Aidarbekov, members of the CSTO statutory bodies exchanged views on the military and political situation in the regions of collective security of the CSTO and the activities of the Organization in the intersessional period (2018-2019), the press service of the Kyrgyz MFA said.

The meeting participants approved the draft Declaration of the CSTO Collective Security Council on improving international cooperation and cooperation with a view to strengthening global and regional security, and adopted a joint statement of the CSTO Foreign Ministers on efforts to stabilize the situation in the Middle East and North Africa.

The CSTO Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Defense and Security Councils Secretaries approved the draft decisions on deepening political, military and military economic cooperation among the member states, improving the regulatory framework and financial and economic support of the Organization's activities, which are submitted for consideration at the session of the CSTO Collective Security Council on Nov.28, 2019 in Bishkek.

Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov informed the meeting participants about the priority directions of the Russian Federation's activity for the period of its chairmaninship in the Organization.

At the end of the meeting, the Kyrgyz Republic handed over to Rissua the chairmanship wands of the CSTO Council of Foreign Ministers, Ministers of Defense, and the Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils.
