Bishkek, Sept. 12, 2023. /Kabar/. A meeting of the CIS Information Council, which includes heads of state media of the Commonwealth countries, is being held at the Ala-Archa state residence.
The meeting was opened by Director of Kabar News Agency Mederbek Shermetaliev. Having warmly greeted his colleagues, he noted the importance of strengthening interaction in the CIS information space. At the same time, he emphasized that these efforts aimed at preserving the culture, history and traditional values of peoples are especially important in a period of increased turbulence in international relations.
“I would like to note the positive experience of our interaction in covering the second CIS Games, which were recently held in Minsk. They truly became a great spectacular sporting event in the Commonwealth and attracted a huge audience of fans. Spectators and readers in Kyrgyzstan watched the sports battles with great interest.
I appeal to my colleagues on the Information Council with a request to take the same active part in covering the CIS Youth Delphic Games, which will start in Bishkek in a month. These applied competitions in the disciplines of artistic, scientific and technical creativity allow talented children to develop their abilities and stimulate them to find creative solutions in such areas as art, culture and scientific activity,” noted Mederbek Shermetaliev.
On behalf of President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov, the participants of the meeting of the CIS Information Council were greeted by the press secretary of the head of state, Erbol Sultanbaev.
“Sadyr Nurgozhoevich wishes you productive work and is ready to support the decisions of the CIS Information Council aimed at strengthening friendship between our countries and building a reliable foundation for the Commonwealth, which is based on information interaction.
On my own behalf, I would like to add that during a period of turbulence in the international situation, the development of ties and contacts between state news agencies of the CIS acquires special significance. And we note the contribution that you make to creating a favorable atmosphere of cooperation with an emphasis on historical ties, respect for the culture, traditions and values of the peoples of the Commonwealth,” noted Erbol Sultanbaev.
The agenda of the meeting of the CIS Information Council includes issues of further strengthening interaction in the media space, summing up interim results of activities, implementing joint projects and electing a chairman.
TASS General Director Andrey Kondrashov, TASS Deputy General Director Mikhail Gusman and other prominent representatives of media structures of the Commonwealth of Independent States take part in the work of the CIS Information Council.
