Bishkek, July 19, 2022. /Kabar/. A meeting of the Coordinating Council of heads of law enforcement, fiscal and other state bodies, local authorities on combating corruption was held Tuesday in the Presidential Administration.
The meeting was chaired by Head of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Zhaparov.
In his speech, the Cabinet chairman pointed out that Kyrgyzstan has been unsuccessfully fighting corruption for 30 years.
"To this day, corruption exists in all state bodies and has a bad impact on the socio-economic development of the country. Thus, since 1997, 16,639 criminal cases related to corruption in government agencies have been opened, of which 12,069 (75.5%) under the article abuse of power. In this regard, we intend to thoroughly fight against corruption and hope for a successful result, " Akylbek Zhaparov added.
During the meeting, anticorruption measures in the field of urban planning and architecture were dicussed, as well as measures to prevent and avoid violations of legislation on the use of budgetary funds, permits for construction and state expertise in 2020-2022.
