Bishkek, April 9, 2021. / Kabar / . The Kyrgyz capital of Bishkek hosted on Friday a round table dedicated to the 30th Anniversary of Independence of Turkmenistan, as well as the declaration of 2021 as International Year of Peace and Trust.

The round table, organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Kyrgyzstan and the Arabaev Kyrgyz State University, brought together ambassadors of a number of countries to the Kyrgyz Republic, deputies, representatives of the republic’s Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, heads of several leading Kyrgyz universities and mass media.
In his welcome speech, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Kyrgyzstan Shadurdy Meredov told about the achievements of the country since gaining the independence. He also provided an extensive information on the economic achievements of Turkmenistan.

In addition, the ambassador emphasized the contribution of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality to global peace, security and sustainable development. In this regard Shadurdy Meredov reminded that the declaration of 2021 as International Year of Peace and Trust found support from UN General Assembly.
Further, a short video entitled Turkmenistan - homeland of neutrality showing dynamic development of Turkmenistan was presented.
Other participants of the event stressed the importance of Turkmenistan’s peace-loving foreign policy, adding that under the leadership of current Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow the country has achieved high rates of agriculture development, industrial production and success in oil production.

They also shared a personal memories of visits and trips to Turkmenistan.
At the end of the event, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Kyrgyzstan Shadurdy Meredov invited the round table participants to take part in online conference which will be also devoted to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's Independence.
The virtual event will take place in June this year.
