Bishkek, Apr. 10, 2019 / Kabar /. Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan are neighboring states. They have a common border, a centuries-old history of relations - two nations connected with common traditions, customs and language.
After independence, both states continued to develop fraternal relations, building equal relations. Countries interact in many areas: developing the economy, cultural and social ties, including cooperation in the field of defense and security.
The peaceful transit of power in Kazakhstan began with the announcement of the resignation of the President - first leader of the country Nursultan Nazarbayev. This event draws close attention of the world powers, including from Kyrgyzstan.
Processes in neighboring Kazakhstan are developing very rapidly: after the appointment of the Acting President under the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Chairman of the Parliament Kasim-Joomart Tokaev on March 19, 2019, a month later, on April 8, set the date of day of the election of the President of Kazakhstan.
Kasym-Joomart Tokaev, in his address to the people of Kazakhstan, noted that the elections will be held on June 9, 2019. Considering these processes, as well as recent events related to the problems of the transit of heavy vehicles from Kyrgyzstan to Kazakhstan, and the economic and social consequences for Kyrgyzstan, one should closely monitor the events in the neighboring republic.
The round table was organized by Public Fund “Kyrgyz Media Center” together with Kyrgyz State University of Arabaev. At the round table, representatives of public services, experts and political scientists expressed opinions regarding a new round of relations between the two countries. The participants of the round table discussed the prospects and directions that have the potential for the development of bilateral relations opening up with the advent of new leadership in neighboring Kazakhstan.
