Bishkek, May 5, 2023. /Kabar/. A solemn ceremony of celebration on the occasion of the adoption of the 30th anniversary of the Constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic is held today in Bishkek with the participation of President Sadyr Zhaparov.
In his keynote speech, the head of state noted that today is a significant day for Kyrgyzstan.
The president noted that the Constitution consolidated the legal foundations of modern Kyrgyz statehood and proclaimed the highest values of the state of people, their life, rights and freedoms.
“Today, celebrating the 30th anniversary of the first Constitution in a solemn atmosphere, I want to note that its adoption was a great achievement thanks to the efforts of many figures and conscious citizens. I express my gratitude to everyone who actively participated in the painstaking work on drafting and adopting the Constitution, taking on such an important mission,” the head of state stressed.
The event is attended by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, headed by Chairman Akylbek Zhaparov, deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh, ex-President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbai Jeenbekov, representatives of the Themis and the clergy of the country, legendary personalities who have contributed to the development of the state and municipal employees.
The Constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic is a law that has the highest legal force in Kyrgyzstan. It was approved by the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic on May 5, 1993. During 30 years it was changed several times.
Currently the Constitution of May 5, 2021 is in force.
