Bishkek Infectious Disease Hospital receives protective suits

Bishkek, May 4, 2020. /Kabar/. Medical workers at the Republican Clinical Infectious Disease Hospital have received personal protective equipment.

According to the press service of the State Agency for Youth Affairs, Physical Culture and Sports of Kyrgyzstan, a total of 507 protective suits and 340 disposable masks were handed over.

"We supported the initiative of Aivaz Omorkanov and attracted sponsors. More than KGS 500,000 (about USD 6,250) were collected, on which we purchased masks and protective suits for medical workers. This is the contribution of the entire sports community to the fight against coronavirus infection,” the Youth Affairs Agency said citing its Director Kanat Amankulov.

Kyrgyz triathlete Aivaz Omorkanov overcame half-ironman distance at home, launching a parallel charity campaign to raise funds to fight the coronavirus.
