Bishkek, Oct.7, 2019. /Kabar/. The Bishkek International Marathon took place in the capital last weekend.
According to the data of organizers, about 3,000 athletes and amateurs from more than 20 countries took part in the competitions: Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Russia, USA, France, Estonia, Germany, Italy, China, Turkey, Qatar, India, Argentina, Great Britain, etc.
The Bishkek International Marathon is held for the 4th time under the “Running Hearts” slogan. This year the marathon is of a charitable nature, where part of contribution of each participant will be used for treatment of children with heart disease.
Traditionally, the Marathon participants ran 3, 10, 21 and 42 km.
A total of 2,711 adult athletes participated. Of these, 47% were women and 53% were men. Also, 300 young runners from 4 to 16 years old took part in the children's race.
