Bishkek sees sharp increase in COVID-19 mortality over past 10 days: mayor

Bishkek, July 1, 2020. /Kabar/. As of July 1, 2 thousand 292 laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19 coronavirus infection have been revealed in Bishkek, Mayor Aziz Surakmatov told a news briefing.

According to him, for the last 10 days there is a daily growth of people infected

"While on June 22 number of COVID-19 cases were 82, today 195 new cases were revealed. The number of deaths has climbed to 21, a sharp increase in mortality has been observed over the past 10 days. 3 thousand 706 people out of a total of contact persons are under medical supervision.

"Appropriate measures will be taken against some district heads. Out of 2 thousand 292 infected, more than 50% are state and municipal employees," the mayor said.
