Bishkek tightens security measures in shopping centers after terrorist attack in Moscow

Bishkek, March 25, 2024. / Kabar/. Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Nurbek Abdiev held a meeting in Bishkek on March 24 aimed at preventing crimes and acts of violence using weapons in places of public recreation for citizens.

The meeting was attended by owners, administrators of shopping centers and entertainment complexes and representatives of private security companies.

During the discussion, Nurbek Abdiev said that one of the most important issues of our time is the effective counteraction to terrorist activities. Terrorism is improving, changing forms and methods, becoming more and more sophisticated. He recalled recent events in the neighboring countries, the terrorist attack at the Crocus City Hall concert hall in the Moscow region and its tragic consequences.

To prevent the possibility of committing crimes and acts of violence with the use of weapons in shopping centers, institutions and organizations, the deputy head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs called on owners and administrators to carry out a number of measures:

- tightening of access control at the entrance and entry into the territory of objects,

- installation of alarm systems, audio and video recording, panic buttons,

- daily walk-throughs of premises and inspection of areas where hazardous substances are concentrated for the timely detection of explosive devices or suspicious objects,

- careful selection and verification of security personnel,

- periodic commission inspection of warehouse premises, organization and conduct, together with law enforcement officers, of briefings and practical training on actions in emergencies in cases of evacuation of visitors,

- when concluding rental agreements for premises, it is mandatory to include clauses giving the administration the right, if necessary, to inspect the premises being rented out.
