Bishkek, July 30, 2019. /Kabar/. Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Chingiz Aidarbekov received U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Jonathan Henik.
The U.S. delegation has arrived in Bishkek to participate in the Fourth Annual Kyrgyz-American Bilateral Consultations, which will be held on July 31, 2019, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported.
The sides discussed the progress of talks on the updated Agreement on Technical and Economic and Humanitarian Cooperation, the directions of joint practical projects, as well as the issues of intensifying cooperation on the return of illegally exported assets from the Kyrgyz Republic.
The U.S. side highly appreciated the democratic achievements of Kyrgyzstan and expressed readiness to further assist in strengthening democratic institutions and market economy in the country.
“We intend to strengthen our relationship. I was glad to see the progress made by the Kyrgyz Republic,” Henik said.
The parties reached an understanding on the need to fill the Kyrgyz-American relations with new content.
