Bishkek, Feb.5, 2020. /Kabar/. The city's GTF taekwondo championship will be held in Bishkek on Feb. 22-23, 2020, the press service of the Federation of this sport reported Wednesday.
The competitions, which will take place at the Gazprom-Children Sports and Recreation Center, are held to educate young people courage, resilience and bravery, popularization, promotion and development of GTF taekwondo in the capital.
Athletes of the following age groups are allowed to participate in the competitions: 6-7 years; 8-9 years; 10-11 years; 12-13 years; 14-15 years; 16-17 years; over 18 years.
In 1990 the Global Taekwondo Federation (GTF) split from the International Taekwon-Do Federation (ITF) to form its own style of Taekwondo based on ITF-style. Essentially this can be considered a variation of ITF-style.
