Bishkek to host Eurasian Economic Forum in May

Bishkek, Feb. 15, 2022 . / Kabar / . During a meeting in Kyrgyzstan, Minister of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) for Integration and Macroeconomics Sergey Glazyev discussed the organization of the Eurasian Economic Forum (EEF) to be held in Bishkek this May.

The press service of the organization reported that the Kyrgyz side made its proposals for the draft discussion program and the business part of the Forum. As head of the program committee, Sergey Glazyev informed the host party of the EEC's proposals, as well as the Commission's upcoming actions to organize the Forum and fill out the program

The minister also met with President of the country, Chairman of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council Sadyr Zhaparov and Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Chairman of the Intergovernmental Council Akylbek Zhaparov, and First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet, Chairman of the EEC Council Arzybek Kozhoshev.

Sergey Glazyev also met with Danil Ibrayev, President of the Kyrgyz Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs and Chairman of the Presidium - President of the EAEU Business Council.

The sides discussed the issues of overcoming barriers and restrictions hindering the freedom of movement of goods in the common customs territory, as well as issues of business support of EAEU states and exports to third countries.

During the visit, Sergey Glazyev visited the Western Campus of the academic consortium International University of Kyrgyzstan, where he met with representatives of the National Academy of Sciences of Kyrgyzstan, the management of the International University of Kyrgyzstan and the Kyrgyz-Russian Techno-Park Ala-Too.

The EEC minister got acquainted with the scientific and educational activities, infrastructure and technical equipment of the university.
