Bishkek, Aug. 25, 2021. / Kabar /. The 10th International Film Festival of the CIS, Baltic States and Georgia "Kyrgyzstan is a country of short films" will take place in Bishkek on September 14 - 17, 2021, Cholpon Idrisova, press secretary of the Aytysh Film studio told.
She said that this year the film festival is timed to coincide with the 30th anniversary of Kyrgyzstan's independence.
The film festival has become a good tradition for the townspeople and guests of our capital, where the best films of the CIS countries, the Baltic States and Georgia are shown. Over the years of its existence, our festival has become a huge platform where filmmakers gather and demonstrate their work, share ideas and experience, discuss new opportunities and implement joint projects. The film screening is of great importance in the cultural life of the participating countries, as it plays an important role in the development of the creativity of young filmmakers and the strengthening of cultural ties between the post-Soviet countries, the report said.
The film screening will be held with the support of the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS Member States (IFES), the Ministry of Culture, Sports, Information and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Cultural Cooperation Fund and the Aytysh public fund.
The film festival was founded in 2010 by a public and political figure, director, producer Sadyk Sher-Niyaz in order to develop a cultural dialogue between the CIS countries, the Baltic States and Georgia, preserve identity and develop traditional cultural values.
