Bishkek to host Korean kimchi festival

Bishkek, Oct. 27, 2022. /Kabar/. A festival of Korean kimchi and a tasting of traditional wine will be held in Bishkek on October 29, the press service of the capital's Mayor's Office reported.

The event is organized by the Korean Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic and will be held on the alley in front of the monument to Kurmanjan Datka from 11:00 to 15:00

"Kimchi Festival and Korean Wine Tasting is a significant event for presenting Korean cuisine and traditional drinks by promoting and organizing kimchi making and tasting activities of various types of traditional drinks," the announcement said.

Bishkek Mayor's Office invites everyone to spend an interesting weekend.

Kimchi is a Korean dish, which is spicy spiced pickled (fermented) vegetables, primarily Chinese cabbage. In 2013, the kimchi-making culture received UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage status.
