Bishkek, May 10, 2023. / Kabar /. As part of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the introduction of the national currency - the som, the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic plans to hold a numismatic exhibition on May 12 - 31.
The exhibition will feature expositions on the history of the development of the national currency of the Kyrgyz Republic with samples of banknotes from 1993-2017, as well as commemorative collectible coins issued by the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic over a 30-year period.
Kyrgyzstan was one of the first countries of the former USSR (and the first in post-Soviet Central Asia) to adopt its own national currency. The decision on its introduction was adopted by the Supreme Council of Kyrgyzstan on May 3, 1993.
