Bishkek to host XVII International Jazz Festival

Bishkek, April 8, 2022 / Kabar /. Bishkek will host the XVII International Jazz Festival "Jazz_Bishkek_Spring" on April 21-24, 2022.

According to the organizers, the motto of this festival is "Music without borders". “Our mission is to build bridges through cultural cooperation in the name of friendship and understanding between peoples. Jazz is the music of free and creative people,” the organizers said.

UNESCO has declared April 30 as International Jazz Day. Starting from 2018, the Bishkek International Jazz Festival has been included in the program of festivals dedicated to this day. Thanks to the 16 Bishkek International Jazz Festivals, it was possible to acquaint the Kyrgyz people with the peculiarities of the perception and interpretation of jazz by 176 groups from 21 countries: Azerbaijan, Austria, Belarus, Hungary, Germany, Israel, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, the Netherlands, Poland, Russia, the USA, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, France, Switzerland, Estonia, Japan.
