Bishkek to increase disinfecting efforts as number of COVID-19 cases growing

Bishkek, June 28, 2020. /Kabar/. From June 29, intensive disinfection will be carried out in Bishkek, the press service of the capital Mayor’s Office reported.

An increase in the number of COVID-19 cases has been recorded throughout the country, a total of 4,748 cases have been registered as of June 28.

2,242 of them have recovered, 47 have died.

1,777 COVID-19 cases have been revealed in Bishkek so far.

Emergency medical services (103) and the self-diagnostic line (118) are overloaded. Previously, the average daily number of calls was 380-400, but now it has increased to 700, the total load has doubled, the volume of consultations has tripled and the number of calls has quadrupled.

On the recommendation of the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Inspection and on the appeal of the city department of the Emergency Ministry by the decision of the Bishkek Commission on Civil Protection, starting from June 29, disinfection throughout the city will be carried out every day from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

According to the plan, disinfection of the square from Bokonbayev Street to Jibek-Jolu Ave. and from Manas Ave. to Abdrakhmanov Street, including Erkindik Boulevard, "Ala-Too" Square, Oak Park, Panfilov Park and other public places will take place tomorrow.
