Bishkek, Oct.18, 2024. /Kabar/. A body of one of the six missing persons was found in Ak-Sai locality of Chatkal region, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan said.
As a result of search and rescue operations this morning, the body of a 46-years-old man was found and taken by helicopter to the headquarters located at Kumbel site. At present, the search for the rest of the missing continues.
This morning, a helicopter of the Emergency Ministry was involved in the search for six missing people.
In the near future, two more groups of rescuers will be sent, which, observing all precautions, will continue search operations to find the rest of the victims.
There is still a high risk of repeated avalanches in the area, which complicates rescue operations.
On Oct. 9, 14 people, including local residents and one Chinese citizen, went to the mountains in search of roots of a rare plant and since then have not been in touch.
As a result of search operations on Oct.16, eight people were found, all of them alive and well, but it was reported that the remaining six people may have fallen under a snow avalanche.
20 rescuers are involved in the search operation, the necessary equipment is used.
