Bishkek, Jan. 15, 2019. /Kabar/. Bolot Otunbayev, a candidate for the post of Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to the United States, told the Kabar agency what, first of all, he would do after being appointed to the post.
During the conversation, the diplomat noted that in fact there is a lot of work in the United States.
First of all, Otunbayev intends to address the issue of a new Agreement on economic and technical cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the United States.
“Unfortunately, in 2015, Kyrgyzstan denounced the Agreement on economic and technical cooperation with the United States. At the moment, the American side has provided a new draft, which was considered by our ministries and departments for amendment. And now, in the Government Office, there is an agreement with all the changes and the instruction has been given to work it out. This will be a basic agreement on the basis of which we will develop cooperation. The agreement includes, among other things, humanitarian assistance,” he explained.
Otunbayev also intends to address the issue of reaching a treaty on extradition of criminals.
