Bishkek, April 4, 2022. / Kabar /. A book about the life and work of Kyrgyz hero Shabdan baatyr has been presented in Bishkek.

Great-granddaughter of Shabdan baatyr Zhainagul Taiguronova said at a press conference at Kabar News Agency, her sister Zhanyl Abdyldabek kyzy, who passed away at the age of 74, was collecting archival information and she is the author.

“She planned to write a book not only about our ancestor, but also about his descendants, but, unfortunately, she did not have time,” said Zhainagul Taiguronova.

The total circulation of the book is 2.5 thousand copies, including 1 thousand in Kyrgyz and 1.5 thousand in Russian.

Zhainagul Taiguronova also said that during the life of her sister, a museum was opened in the village of Shabdan, where copies of all original documents significant in history are collected.

However, she believes that the original versions should be given to the state, as this is the property of the republic.

According to historical data, Shabdan baatyr was born on October 29, 1839 in the Sarybagysh tribe on the territory of the present Keminsky district in the family of Dzhantai Karabekov.

History says that thanks to Shabdan baatyr it was managed to reconcile the Russian authorities and the Queen of Alai Kurmanjan Datka, who led the resistance to Russian expansion during the Turkestan campaigns in 1876.

In addition, Shabdan baatyr managed to free from captivity more than a hundred Kyrgyzs and Kazakhs sentenced to death, who participated in armed protests against the resettlement of Russians to Kyrgyz lands.
