Bishkek, May 31, 2021. / Kabar / . A presentation of children’s books, timed to coincide with the International Children’s Day, was held in Bishkek on Monday.
During a press conference at Kabar News Agency, writer and author Talantbek Shabiyev told his book is called Magic Rain. The book describes the attitude of children to the war.
"I have written this book in 2019. It tells the story of school-age children discussing the war, their worldview, their perception of what is happening. Because kids are very receptive people. They don't want war. They ask for magic rain to help stop the war. Kids discuss what it would be like if there were flowers instead of bullets, which are shot in war," the author said.
Shabiyev added the launch of the book coincided with events on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border, where little Madina became one of the victims of armed aggression.
"I decided to dedicate my book in memory of Madina. May our children never see war, and there will be only peaceful sky above us," the writer said.
The Magic Rain book is being published in a print run of 1,000 copies.
The author also plans to distribute the books to orphanages and boarding schools, and to give them to migrant children through sponsors.
As a result of the armed attack on the state border between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, 36 Kyrgyz citizens were killed, including three servicemen, and the rest were civilians, including two young children.
