Osh, Jan.31, 2020. /Kabar/. Yesterday, Jan. 30 the State Border Service Administration for Batken Oblast hosted an official ceremony of handing over computer equipment for checkpoints, located in Kadamjay region of Batken Oblast.
Speaking at the ceremony, Colonel Kyyalbek Beknazarov, First Deputy Head of the State Border Service Administration for Batken Oblast stressed installation of new computer equipment at checkpoints across the Kyrgyz-Uzbek state border will allow the Border Service to improve the quality of border control, and provide comfortable conditions for citizens crossing the state border.
Under the project, 13 sets of computer equipment worth a total of $ 23,755 were handed over to the Border Service to improve conditions for citizens crossing the state border.
The equipment is being transferred under the “Promoting Kyrgyzstan’s Youth Cohesion and Interaction Towards Uzbekistan” project of the Peacebuilding Fund of the United Nations, implemented by the UN agencies in Kyrgyzstan (UNICEF, UNDP and UNFPA).
In addition, on the same day, the official opening ceremony of a small hall of the state administration of Batken Oblast was held.
The small hall has been re-equipped to hold various on-line coordination meetings on issues of security, public administration, civil protection of the population from emergency situations, water resources management and others.
In total, the United Nations Development Programme provided assistance in equipping the meeting room for a total of KGS 1 million 232 thousand 294 with the financial support of the UN Peacebuilding Fund, the Trust Fund of the Russian Federation and UNDP.
