Border guards of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan to jointly patrol border areas from Dec. 2

Bishkek, Dec. 2, 2021. / Kabar /. A meeting of border representatives of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan with the participation of akims (local leaders) of border regions, representatives of law enforcement and competent authorities of the parties was held on Dec. 1, 2021, in the Tort-Kocho area of ​​ Batken region at 23:30, the press service of the Border Service of Kyrgyzstan reported.

During the meeting, they discussed the incident that occurred at 21:15 in the Dakhma area of Batken region near the conditional line of the state border, when unknown persons fired 7-8 shots from Tajikistan.

Based on the results of the meeting, it was decided that the law enforcement agencies of the parties will conduct joint patrols of the border area starting from Dec. 2, 2021 in order to ensure public law and order.

As of 9:00 on Dec. 2, 2021, the situation on the Kyrgyz-Tajik section of the state border is characterized as stable.
