Bishkek, Aug. 22, 2020 / Kabar /. The development of tourism is impossible without solving the problem of providing the population with clean drinking water, Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Kubatbek Boronov said during his visit to Issyk-Kul.
The press service of the Kyrgyz government reported that Boronov got acquainted with the Taza Suu project in the village of Darkhan, Jeti-Oguz region.
According to the State Agency for Water Resources of the Kyrgyz Republic, the water supply system of the Darkhan village, where 7,000 people live, was rehabilitated in 2003.
“Due to the increase in the population, work is underway to lay additional water supply pipes. Before that, villagers received water from the spring. When the spring dried up, a well was dug. All work will be completed in full in September of this year," a representative of the Water Resources Agency said.
The prime minister noted that 79 villages will be provided with clean drinking water by the end of the year.
“Providing settlements with clean water is one of the priority directions of state policy. A number of necessary measures are being taken in this direction,” Boronov said.
The head of government stressed that a special attention should be given to the quality of the water facilities under construction and planned for construction under the Taza Suu project.
