Bishkek, Aug. 27, 2020 / Kabar /. The main goal of the ongoing reforms is to support honest business and fight against the shadow economy, Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Kubatbek Boronov said at a meeting of the Coordinating Council on digitalization of tax and customs administration.

He said that as part of the digitalization of tax and customs procedures, a number of components are being introduced, such as electronic invoices, an automated gas station management system, an electronic consignment note, virtual cash registers, a patent and an insurance policy are combined into one document and converted into electronic format, inspection complexes have been installed at customs points.

“Work in these areas will increase budget revenues, reduce the level of the shadow economy, reduce the flow of goods smuggled into the country and introduce control mechanisms. Also, digitalization of tax and customs services will support conscientious taxpayers and protect consumers from counterfeit products,” Kubatbek Boronov said.

The head of government added that the work carried out in these areas is already yielding certain positive results, but these are only the first steps. “We must understand that these areas are priorities in the activities of the Government. The measures taken must meet the main criteria - these are support for honest business, the fight against corruption and the creation of healthy competition. Fighting shadow business and increasing the openness of the economy is not an easy task, but an important one. Therefore, we will continue to promote reforms. There is still a lot of work ahead,” the prime minister added.

A number of issues were considered at the meeting, including the status of the work carried out by the State Tax Service under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic to introduce components of digitalization of tax procedures, the Plan to highlight the digitalization of tax administration under the brand "SMART SALYM", the transition to servicing taxpayers, construction of a data processing center tax service.

In addition, during the meeting, the members of the Coordinating Council approved the Roadmap for further actions to introduce digitalization of tax and customs administration for 2020.

The head of government noted that the system of fiscalization of tax and customs procedures should be fully implemented in the interests of the domestic economy. This will create a transparent and fair environment for entrepreneurs and business development.

Following the meeting, Prime Minister Kubatbek Boronov instructed to intensify the work of the Coordination Council on the digitalization of tax and customs procedures in order to speed up the process of advancing the ongoing reforms.
