Bishkek, April 25, 2022 . / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov in an exclusive interview with Kabar News Agency answered a question concerning the military conflict in Ukraine.
Western countries have warned that it is impossible to be neutral with respect to Ukraine, and sanctions await those who claim neutrality. Will our positions on this issue change?
The Kyrgyz president said answered that not only do Western countries talk about the impossibility of neutrality, but others say so as well, that one must be on one side or the other. But it is quite possible.
"Ukrainians, Belarusians, Russians, as well as Kyrgyz, Kazakhs, Uzbeks, have the same language, traditions and are brotherly peoples. At some point they will find a common language. In addition, we have lived together as one family for 70 years as part of the USSR.
Of course, the loss of lives on both sides is a tragedy for all of us. It would have been better without the war. Both sides had an equal opportunity to prevent war. However, both sides began to receive distorted information and conflict ensued. Both sides misled the presidents. Instead of trying to stop the war, the individuals are escalating the feud. On the contrary, there would be no war if they insisted on the implementation of the Minsk agreements. It was signed not only by Russia and Ukraine, but also by Germany and France.
We are a small state. We have no influence. Would they win immediately if we supported one side?, President Zhaparov said.
