Bishkek, Dec. 14, 2022 / Kabar/. Mayor of Osh Bakytbek Zhetigenov held a meeting with consultants from Atknis (UK) on the project "Modernization of electric public transport in Osh", implemented with the support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
The press service of the mayor's office of the southern capital said that during the meeting, the sides discussed issues of interaction within the framework of the implementation of this project, as well as prospects for further bilateral cooperation.
According to EBRD representative Nurgul Kudranova, the consultants will get acquainted with the city's transport system, the operation of public transport, and study the needs of Osh. Based on the results of this work, proposals will be developed to improve the operation of the public transport system of the southern capital.
In turn, Bakytbek Zhetigenov noted that the mayor's office is fully ready to cooperate in the implementation of this project and will provide all possible assistance in the work of consultants.
It should be recalled that within the framework of the electric public transport modernization project in Osh, work is planned to launch the third trolleybus line, including the purchase of 50 electric buses, 20 trolleybuses, the construction of appropriate infrastructure, recharging stations and depot modernization.
