Bishkek, Sept. 9, 2017 / Kabar /. British experts will assist the Bishkek Mayor’s Office in the implementation of the Smart City project, the press service of the Mayor's Office reported.
Bishkek Mayor Albek Ibraimov met today with the delegation of the Department for International Development (DFID) of Great Britain.
The meeting was attended by British Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Robin Ord-Smith and leading expert on digital cities of DFID Kirsten Jack, as well as representatives of the administration of the Bishkek Mayor’s Office.
During the meeting, Mayor Ibraimov get acquainted with the mission of British experts on the implementation of the Smart City project in the capital of Kyrgyzstan, which aims to explore the opportunities and obstacles that contribute in digital transformation of Bishkek.
The Mayor also informed the experts about the work done within the framework of this project.
In turn, the British delegation members expressed their support for this agenda and said that they already have extensive experience in implementing similar projects in other cities around the world.
They said that they will consider the proposed issues regarding Bishkek, and, following its results will provide possible measures in the field of improving the infrastructure of the capital city.
