Bishkek, April 22, 2021 . / Kabar / . A British strain of coronavirus has been detected in Kyrgyzstan, Minister of Health of the republic Alymkadyr Beishenaliev told Kabar News Agency.
He added that now 50% of all detected cases of coronavirus infection are already British strain.
The minister noted this variant of the coronavirus is much more aggressive and deadly.
"Whereas the old strain could infect 1-2 people when communicating, the British strain can infect 3-5 people from a single patient. This virus is more aggressive. Now we are taking measures, it is necessary to bring the Russian vaccine faster and vaccinate the population as quickly as possible,” Beishenaliev added.
