Bishkek, Nov.13, 2019. /Kabar/. In 2018, the budget deficit have reduced by 3 times, compared to 2017, Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev said at the session of the Jogorku Kenesh.
He noted in 2018 the budget deficit amounted to KGS 6.46 billion, which is KGS 10.9 billion less than in 2017 (in 2017 the deficit made KGS 17 billion 377 million).
The prime minister said the deficit in 2018 amounted to 1.2% of GDP, which is a good indicator.
“Budget expenditures in 2018, spent on pensions, salaries, scholarships, etc. amounted to KGS 142 billion, an increase of 5% compared to 2017. The funds were also allocated for payment of the public debt. This is what the protected heading of expenditure says. On the unprotected item, the amount of expenses amounted to KGS 32 billion,” Abylgaziev said.
The PM said the budget for 2018 was socially oriented.
“55.2% were spent on the social sector. Thus, 21.7% went to education, 13.6% to health care, 20.9% to social protection,” he said.
