Bishkek, Jan. 26, 2023 / Kabar/. Business circles of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan signed today in Bishkek seven memorandums of cooperation and mutual understanding, the press service of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic said.
The signing of the documents took place within the framework of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek business forum. More than a hundred representatives of the largest enterprises of the two republics took part in the joint meeting of the business council. As a result of the negotiations, memorandums of cooperation were signed between:
- the Union of Jewelers and Entrepreneurs of Kyrgyzstan and the Uzbekzargarsanoati Association of Uzbekistan;
- Osh regional branch of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic and Andijan Territorial Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan;
- Memorandum of Understanding between JIA Business Association and Uzbekistan Exporters Association;
- Memorandum of cooperation between the Pharmaceutical Union of Kyrgyzstan and the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan;
- Memorandum of Understanding between Ecoexport LLC of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Association for the Development of Pasture Farms of the Republic of Uzbekistan;
- Memorandum of cooperation between the Association of Tour Operators of Kyrgyzstan and the Association of Tourism Investors of Uzbekistan;
- Memorandum of cooperation between the companies "Bazalt wool" of Kyrgyzstan and LLC "Fast Group" of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 20 million US dollars.
At the same time, representatives of the associations of dairy products of the two countries declared their readiness for mutual cooperation. So, last year, dairy products worth 1.7 million soms were exported to Uzbekistan. This is 12 times less than exported to other countries. Considering that milk and meat are perishable products, businessmen asked to create a green corridor for the passage of these goods.
The heads of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Uzbekistan made a joint statement in which they assured entrepreneurs that they would negotiate with the relevant state bodies as soon as possible to solve the urgent problem.
“We have determined the horizons - this is 2 billion US dollars a year. To achieve this level, the chambers of commerce and industry of the two countries are ready to provide all possible assistance. We agreed that we will break through the so-called green corridor between the two states. Business is ready to work with government agencies and solve all existing problems,” said Temir Sariev, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic.
