Bishkek, Dec. 30, 2021 . / Kabar /. Members of the Business Environment Development Council under the Bishkek Mayor's Office discussed the draft Program of Social and Economic Development of Bishkek until 2026 at a roundtable in the capital's municipality with the participation of Mayor Aibek Dzhunushaliyev.

The meeting participants asked questions in all areas of the Kyrgyz capital’s development, noting the importance of improving the city not only for the convenience of its residents, but also for doing business.

In particular, increased transparency and openness of all data will allow businesses to plan their activities more effectively. Council members also made a proposal for the full digitalization of all types of services provided by the city services.

Executive Director of the International Business Council (IBC) Askar Sydykov raised the issue of municipal transport. He suggested considering options for engaging private partners so that money would not be spent from the municipal budget to purchase buses, but would be done by a private company and then manage the purchased facility.

In addition, the IBC head suggested that special attention be paid to the collection and processing of solid waste, as this problem has long been acute and needs to be solved. According to UNDP experts, Bishkek collects about a thousand tons of garbage every day, and this figure is increasing by 20% annually.

Bishkek Mayor Aibek Dzhunushaliyev thanked the participants of the meeting for the constructive dialogue and invited them to participate in the development of a detailed action plan to implement the main document of the capital.
