Osh, Nov. 2, 2018. /Kabar/. A resident of Karatash village, Nookat region, Ermek Tagayev, has been exporting cold-pressed apple juice to Russia and Kazakhstan since 2017. The volume of supply now comes up to 500 tons per year.
Tagaev recently has acquired new equipment that will help expand the production potential. He pours the juice into a 1-liter Pure-Pack.
It is reported that Nookat region is leading in terms of apple production in Kyrgyzstan. No more than 10% is processed of the annual volume of 35-40 thousand tons. Thus, the work of processing companies has a positive impact on the growth of incomes of farmers who send their products for processing.
Tagaev said that he has different juices in the assortment: apple-peach, apple-pear, apple-raspberry, apple-strawberry, apple-quince and others. We buy raw materials from local residents from nearby villages.
“We export our juice to Russia and Kazakhstan, a part goes to the domestic market. The production capacity of the plant is 400-500 tons of juice per season (4 months). In the company, 25 people are provided with jobs,” the entrepreneur said.
“Apple juice of domestic producer EUM (ЭУМ) is not inferior in quality to juice from other countries. The company's products have already been exported to the markets of Kazakhstan, Russia, Tajikistan. Now, with the acquisition of new filling equipment, the export horizons for products of Osh oblast will become even wider,” head of Nookat Region Agrarian Development Department Muhammedhalil Turduev said.
The supply of equipment was made possible through the UNDP Aid for Trade project, funded by the Government of Finland. The cost of assistance provided to the enterprise in the acquisition of filling and packaging equipment amounted to about 4 million 760 thousand soms.
